Sliding Doors
Minimal frames, maximum glass. Large-format aluminium sliding doors with ultra-smooth running gear, fitted across Cheam, Sutton and Surrey.
When Slim Frames
Matter More
Where bi-fold doors fold and project outward, sliding doors remain within the frame line — making them ideal for tight terraces, side returns, and spaces where the panels cannot extend into the garden.
Aluminium sliding door systems have advanced significantly in recent years. Modern systems combine ultra-thin visible sightlines with genuine weather performance — when fitted correctly, they are draughter-free, thermally efficient, and built to run smoothly for decades.

System Types
Inline or Lift & Slide

Inline Sliding — Effortless Operation
Inline sliding doors glide on stainless steel tracks built into the sill and head. The panels are counterbalanced and adjusted during installation to move with fingertip pressure — smooth and effortless even on wide two and three-panel systems.
- 2 or 3-panel inline configurations
- Panels slide behind each other — no exterior protrusion
- High-performance running gear — smooth for decades
- Anti-lift device prevents panel removal from outside
- Low-profile sill options for level access

Lift & Slide — For the Largest Openings
Lift and slide systems allow individual panels to span significantly larger widths than standard inline systems. The panel lifts slightly off the sill seal on opening — reducing friction to near zero — then settles back down with precise compression sealing when closed.
- Individual panels up to 3.5m wide
- Compression sealing when closed — superior weather performance
- Available in 2, 3 or 4-panel configurations
- Ultra-thin visible sightlines when open
- Available in any RAL colour

Any RAL Colour, Any Size
Aluminium sliding doors are powder-coated to any RAL colour. Anthracite grey is the most popular, but the frames can be matched precisely to any window system on the property. Internal and external colours can differ if required — white inside, anthracite outside is a common combination.
- Any RAL colour — powder-coated aluminium
- Internal and external colours can differ
- Thermally broken frame — no cold bridging
- Double or triple glazed units as standard
- Maximum opening widths up to 6 metres

FAQs
Sliding Door Questions
What is the difference between bi-fold and sliding patio doors?
Bi-fold doors fold and stack to one or both sides of the opening — giving a wider clear aperture when fully open. Sliding doors glide on tracks and panels overlap when open, so there is always some frame visible. Sliding doors are often better suited to narrower side gardens or spaces where the panels cannot extend outside the opening.
How wide can a sliding patio door go?
Standard inline sliding systems can reach 4–5 metres wide. Lift and slide systems can go wider — up to 6 metres or more depending on configuration and panel weights. We specify the correct system for your opening during the free survey.
Are sliding patio doors secure?
Yes. Our sliding patio doors are fitted with multi-point locking systems and anti-lift devices to prevent panels being removed from the track. Aluminium frames are structurally strong and cannot be forced out of shape.
Do sliding doors let in draughts?
A correctly specified and installed sliding door should be draughter-free. We only supply systems with proper thermal breaks and pile seals, and we test every installation for draught and weather resistance before sign-off.
How long does installation take?
A standard 2- or 3-panel sliding door installation typically takes one full day. Larger systems may require two days. Structural preparation (lintels, reveals) may need to be completed beforehand.
